Beach Castle

The hotel team and owner really make sure you enjoy your stay, and this is the best accommodation I've visited in Sri Lanka so far. We've been here for two weeks. You can pay by Visa, which is handy since you can't exchange dollars or euros in Unawatuna. There's also a bus to Galle, about 30 minutes and 40 rupees, where you can change money. Galle Fort is a must-see while you're there. The location is fantastic. There's a small area of beach chairs out front, and a door leads to a private beach shared with the neighboring hotel if you want to swim. The beach stairs are missing the last step, so they aren't suitable for older people or anyone with leg problems. My only downside during our stay was sharing the hotel with six Russian guests. I found their attitude and behavior pig-like, including running into the kitchen to make their own breakfast despite a large sign saying cooking by guests wasn't allowed and that the kitchen was for staff only. I've only been able to get along with maybe two of the hundred Russian people I've met. I hope some of them read this, as I've seen this behavior in other places too.

That sea view is just amazing, and the room was big, clean, and had a shower. Beach Castel also has its own hidden sandy beach in the yard. Best location!

A really enjoyable place to spend some time. There's not a lot of people, and they take care of you without any trouble. Nice view, music, and sea, with no hurry. Even though it's right by the road, once you go in, all you hear is the sea. Good choice, thanks.

The family running the place were the nicest people we met in Sri Lanka. Staying here was the best part of our time in the Unawatuna area.
