The rooms were spacious, clean, and in a great spot on the main road near the beach. But our stay went badly when the host hadn't booked the extra night we requested 15 days ahead, leaving us to pack up and find somewhere else at short notice. We still asked her to arrange four more nights so we could avoid Booking fees. She charged us far more than the Booking price, despite there being no booking taxes or fees or residence registration this time. The laundry charge also seemed too high, though we didn't bring it up. We were really disappointed with the host and the hospitality. If you stay here, I'd book through Booking so you know the cost.

We came with our family and felt at home, especially thanks to the lovely, polite children. The family running the guesthouse were very kind, and breakfast was generous and delicious. It's right in central Unawatuna, just metres from the beach and great restaurants. Our room was large and clean, with hot water and good AC and fans. One of the best guesthouses we stayed at in Sri Lanka. We'd happily recommend it, especially to families.

The owners were warm and welcoming, and the house was nice with a clean room for a good price. We were only two minutes from the beach. Our room faced the back, so although the street can be noisy, all we heard was birds. Breakfast was a bit mediocre compared with what we'd had so far, and it came from a place across the street.

The street-facing rooms get a lot of noise from nearby Neptune Club, where people dance until 3 am. The property is on the second line, not directly on the beach.

We really enjoyed our time at Flamingo. The owners and staff were kind and helpful. There's no restaurant on site, but across the road and close by you'll find plenty of great places for different dietary needs. It's right opposite Unawatuna Beach. Thanks to everyone at Flamingo for making our stay so enjoyable.
