The beach is lovely, and the ocean is usually calm and peaceful. There are free sunbeds if you buy a drink or meal, as well as paid ones for 1500 r, and there's a washroom. But they need to do something about the dogs peeing and pooping on the beach where kids play. It's very unhygienic (((

The rates are reasonable, and the food is delicious. It's a glamorous, comfortable hotel with a view of the sun-kissed beach and a very calm, quiet setting. The hotel staff are friendly and hospitable. Wishing the chairman and staff every success.

We went to the Peacock Beach Hotel restaurant with friends for drinks and dinner on 7th February 2026. The regular staff were polite, but the supervisor/owner was extremely rude. His behavior felt racist, especially toward Sri Lankan customers, while foreign guests seemed to be treated differently. It was unprofessional and unacceptable. It was sad to experience this in our own country, since every customer deserves equal respect whatever their nationality. We felt so uncomfortable that we paid the bill halfway through and left. At another restaurant down the beach, we were treated much better. A very disappointing experience. Management should seriously improve how they treat customers.

The room was clean enough and the breakfast was simple but fine, and the staff stayed polite and helpful throughout. Still, those things couldn't undo how upsetting check-in was. We arrived around 3:00 PM for a roughly 1:00 PM check-in and had to wait about 30 minutes because the previous guest had checked out late. We understood that delays happen, but then the owner shouted at staff in front of guests about taking bookings from local travelers. We had booked properly through Booking.com, yet were made to feel unwelcome for being locals. It was humiliating and left us feeling disrespected before we even got to our room. The staff handled the owner's aggressive behavior with real professionalism, and they were the only good part of the stay. As local travelers, we honestly can't recommend this place. Hospitality should make people feel welcome, and the racism we experienced overshadowed everything else.
