Our bungalow was a lovely place to rest, and the private beach was perfect for morning swims. Sergeant House is close to the action but still feels like a refuge from the bustle. The pool was divine, breakfast delicious, rooms fantastic, and the staff exceptional. There was nothing we didn't love about it. The small touches were a delight, like a beach sun hat, incense in the room, and mozzie spray, which you do need. The place felt thoughtful and considered, and it was our favourite stay in Sri Lanka.

A calm, beautiful oasis to stay in. The furnished rooms were lovely and extremely clean, and the pool and grounds were beautiful. Friendly, wonderful staff and good food, too. The private beach was well maintained. I'd happily stay again, highly recommend.

Sergeant House was a lovely haven, booked for us by our tour company. From the main road, it feels like you're surrounded by jungle. The rooms open off a central outdoor space with a nice little pool, and there's a jacuzzi in the garden. Across the road, the private beach area has a lawn, hammock, seating and a small sandy stretch between rocks. The road is VERY busy when you cross to get there. Service was exceptional, the food was good, and our room was lovely, with two outdoor seating areas. Thoroughly recommended.

We felt right at home and wished we could have stayed longer. The service was personal and professional, with a relaxed feel. The suite was beautiful, grand, and private, and the beach was beautiful too. The whole place is stunning, elegant, classy, and very opulent. The grounds are so green, and the house has been restored to a very high standard. Superb service.

The four poster bed and flowing mosquito net have a romantic feel. Details such as handmade rugs, warm lighting, and the careful cleanliness make it feel thoughtfully put together. Outside, wooden chairs and a small table create a quiet spot for morning coffee or a drink under the stars, with palms rustling and birds in the distance. The staff are kind, warm, and discreet, and their hospitality feels natural. It’s more than somewhere to sleep, it’s a restful pause in a journey. 10/10. Ideal for couples, nature lovers, and travelers looking for authenticity and peace.
