Tropical Retreat

Such a relaxing place, with great service. I arrived really early, at 8:30, and they got me into the room super fast. I’d definitely recommend it. In the evening by the pool, I could see monkeys swinging from tree to tree.

We had a lovely time here. The manager was extremely helpful and always available, and the food was cooked really well. They kept adjusting the meals to suit our preferences and remembered what we liked. The pool and inside of the hotel were lovely and clean. The room had steps down into the bed area, with a swing at the back through the doors behind the bed. There was also space and a balcony on the side with a table and chairs. It had a TV, a fridge freezer with an ice cube tray, a desk and chair, a mirror with a light, AC, and a poster bed with netting and lamps on both sides. There were plenty of seating areas outside the rooms. Wi-Fi was a bit hit and miss. The team tried to fix it without being asked, but there were some good days and some very bad days for the connection.

Tropical Retreat was a lovely base for our five days in the Galle district, and the staff were so helpful. The breakfast set us up well for the day. It was a wonderful break from the bustle of town life. Dalawalla, our favourite, and Unawatuna beaches are a short tuk tuk ride away, as is Galle Fort.

We had an amazing four days at this cozy resort. The room, breakfast, pool, and service were all just perfect. We’ll definitely come back.
