Dolape Villa

The staff were lovely and kind, which makes this hard to write, but I have to be honest: I wouldn’t stay here again. Our room was damp-smelling, and our clothes started to smell damp in their suitcases too. It was just below the restaurant balcony, where a girl was doing cartwheels. I worried she might land on our bed at some point. The road was the worst part. The bumpy ride was funny for five minutes, then rattled us senseless for the next 15. We had a puncture by the time we reached the hotel in our rented tuk tuk. They’d been working on the road for two years, and I don’t think the end is anywhere near. The food was expensive and not very nice, but we were about 40 minutes or 9 km from civilization, so there weren’t many options. The free shuttle over the road was a help. I was panicking about driving back, but a staff member reassured me that one of his colleagues would take our tuk tuk over it, as he’d done many times. He did, and the clutch didn’t burn out, which I suspect would’ve happened if I’d driven, since most of the way out is uphill.

The mountain view was beautiful, and we could see Ravana Waterfall in the distance. Our room was really clean and comfortable. We stayed for one night last month and had a superb experience. I’ll come back!

At Dolape Villa I felt comfortable and relaxed the whole time. The meals were tasty, everything was very clean, and the view was beautiful. The staff were friendly and professional too. Had an amazing stay, highly recommend it!

We stayed four nights, and the hotel staff were very professional. The road there isn’t in great shape, but they’ll arrange a free tuk tuk ride. They changed the towels and sheets after the second night, and we could rent a scooter for 2500rs a day. The pool view is stunning. Really recommend it!
