Spindrift Hostel Madiha - Adult Only

The bathroom was clean and well equipped, and the hostel itself is nice, cool, and well located. Staff are friendly and the activities are good. The dorm had lockers, a plug, and AC, but the nights were really difficult because the room felt constantly damp and humid. I can only speak for the ground-floor dorm beside reception, but it had no ventilation system at all. It was dusty too, including the storage locker.

I loved the balance here: it’s social without being a party hostel, with fun activities every day and plenty of room to have quiet time. The hosts make it easy to meet people. The garden and pool are beautiful, and there’s a peaceful yoga shala at the back, surrounded by nature. You can join daily classes or practice on your own. The hostel is stylish and thoughtfully designed, with very comfortable beds and AC in every room. I could sleep under a proper blanket, which made a big difference to my nights in Sri Lanka. The location is fantastic, about three minutes from a beautiful stretch of coast where you can often see turtles, and just a few minutes from Madiha Point, my favorite surf spot in Sri Lanka. Highly recommend!

I spent three weeks at Spindrift Madiha and had such an amazing time! Madiha is a hidden gem, and the hostel is in a fantastic spot. The dorms and bathrooms are really clean and comfortable. The garden with the pool was my favorite place to relax and hang out with people. You can order delicious food and drinks from the rooftop bar and restaurant, and the staff are so friendly and caring. Highly recommended :)

It’s a real gem if you want to stay near surf spots. You might normally ride past the area on the main road without knowing it’s there. The hostel has a great pool and chill-out spaces, and the rooftop is perfect. Staff are amazing, and there are activities too. They also have an AC room with outlets if you need to work.
