Sea Shine Beach Hotel

I was happy with the hospitality and customer service, and the pool was well maintained. The food was okay. My main issue was the room condition: there were lots of patch repairs needed, so I wasn’t satisfied with the rooms even though the service was good.

The food at Sea Shine Hotel was a real disappointment. What arrived didn’t match the menu, but I was charged a higher price, and the quality was extremely poor. That kind of misleading service is unacceptable, so I wouldn’t recommend the place. I have photos to support my complaint. I hope management takes this seriously and improves both the menu accuracy and the food.

The checkout was oddly smooth: no questions, no drama, barely any eye contact, just an easy departure that made every other checkout in the country feel like airport security. The staff were just as absent during the stay, leaving me sweating in a room with a broken fan and no one in sight. Maybe that’s their version of being chill. The hygiene was a horror story, and the food was forgettable: chicken bones marinating in melting ice, whiskey glasses still marked with last night’s lipstick, and devilled chicken so fried it was practically a war crime. Bring a backup place, because you may need somewhere sane to retreat to, preferably with soap. If you’re thinking of coming here, go ahead and live a little. You’ll leave wondering if a few hours of suffering here counts as seeing Sri Lanka.

Last Sunday, despite our advance payment and confirmed booking, we were told the accommodation had gone to someone else because they paid in full. That was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. They first said the place could comfortably fit 10 people, then told us only 7 beds were available. They also tried to upsell us another property for ₹7,000 more. For a group of ten, they had only three towels. The management was poor, the information misleading, and they showed no responsibility. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
