The garden was such a peaceful spot, and the house is tucked away from the busy part of the city. It's basic, but has what you need. I had the whole place to myself and really enjoyed staying at Sam’s homestay. Sam and his family were warm, kind hosts. Since it was Christmas, he even arranged a tree and lights for me. I really believe it's important to support local tourism and families like Sam's.

We stayed three nights and really enjoyed Sam's hospitality. The rooms are simple but have what you need, and there's a kitchen for cooking. It's a budget-friendly place in Wedigama. The lovely garden keeps the rooms quiet, apart from the birds and animals in the morning. Having a bike or scooter is handy for getting around quickly.

The villa is surrounded by fruit trees and palms, and birds and peacocks are easy to hear in the morning. It's cozy, with friendly hosts and what you need for cooking, including dishes, a fridge, and gas. Making meals yourself can save money on cafes. The beach is a five-minute bike ride away. There's no hot water, though in Sri Lanka that didn't seem very necessary, so it was hardly a drawback.
