Burbiškio dvaras

The gardens were a lovely place to wander, with neat paths and bright flowers, and the grounds felt peaceful. Inside, the rooms had elegant furniture and beautiful artwork, with lots of detail that made it feel like stepping into another time. Burbiškiai Manor near Anykščiai has well-kept buildings and a lovely setting, and the staff were keen to share its history and answer questions. I also enjoyed cake and coffee at the café while looking out at the surroundings. The whole visit was captivating, and I’d happily recommend it to anyone interested in history, nature, or a quiet retreat.

There’s plenty to see nearby, and the sculpture park is nice for a walk. Parking is free and there’s lots of space. Entry costs 5 euros per person, which felt worth it. You can rent rooms for 80 to 250 euros a night, or the whole house for an event. The restaurant serves full meals Thursday to Sunday, at around 50 euros per person. It’s been renovated really nicely, with lots of artworks, both old and new paintings. Have a look at the pictures to get a sense of how beautiful it is.

Each room has its own character, with old furniture throughout. The beds are narrow and short, like they used to be, and even the heavy wooden wardrobe door creaks when you open it. There’s a strong cigar smell in the cigar room, while the living rooms smell of old furniture. It’s a really charming place if you like old manors and that authentic historic atmosphere.

The restaurant was closed because of quarantine, but we were able to walk around freely and meet a cat and a parrot. It’s a beautiful restored palace with a park that visitors can enjoy, and the grounds are also available for events.
