Pusynas Druskininkai Hotel & Spa

Right in the city center, this is a quiet, affordable place to unwind. The hotel is clean and nice, although some areas look a little dated. The spa services were excellent. Food at the restaurant is delicious, but it closes at 21.00. Breakfast was a fairly limited buffet, though that might be typical in the off-season. Good value for the price.

The shared balconies are the most alarming part: anyone can get into your apartment if the window is left open. I've never felt so unsafe in a hotel. The main floor is the only part that looks nice; everywhere else is very dated and needs repairs. That balcony setup is absolutely ridiculous.

The reception staff were very kind and helpful, and the breakfast was very good. Our clean, comfortable room had a shared balcony, though there was no air-conditioning. A simple sauna and jacuzzi were included in the offer, nothing special, but included. The restaurant staff were awful and rude in the evening. Ten minutes before closing, they refused to serve us a drink and treated us disrespectfully and unprofessionally. Five minutes later they served their friends or local people with smiles, as if the closing time no longer mattered. The spa treatment information should be available in English too. It was only in Lithuanian, so we couldn't understand it.

My wife and I wanted to book a table for a romantic evening, but the staff said there were no tables free. We later realized that wasn't true. The service was poor and impolite, and the rooms reminded me of the Soviet era. We'll definitely never come back.
