ibis Kaunas Centre

The area felt safe, even though it was very quiet, and there's good value here. The shopping center and Arena are close, and the station is nearby too. It's a shame there aren't many English TV channels. The night receptionist was friendly and very helpful.

Breakfast was another letdown. Staff showed little basic courtesy, with no greeting or professional, welcoming service. Throughout the stay, their attitude was poor. We were given a dirty room that clearly hadn't been cleaned properly. Housekeeping had to come back and clean it after we'd already gone in, which wasn't acceptable. After checkout, a distinctive limited-edition sweatshirt I'd left hanging in the wardrobe was missing. It hadn't been lost somewhere else; it was left in the room and disappeared while the hotel had control of it. Management brushed it off as a “lost item” instead of dealing with the fact that guest property had vanished during housekeeping. As someone who stays in hotels often and is a loyalty member, I found this far below acceptable standards. The dirty room, unfriendly staff, and missing belongings made the hotel feel completely untrustworthy. One of the worst hotel experiences I've had. Avoid.

The rooms are typical Ibis size, with a comfy bed and everything needed for a good overnight or short stay. It's close to both the bus and railway stations. Not many nearby restaurants stay open late, but Hogas Bar is about a 10-minute walk away, excellent, and open quite late if you need it.

The location was generally good, though the views weren't great, especially from the parking side. Breakfast was okay overall, but the fruit and vegetable section could've been fresher.
