Kaunas Camp Inn

The site is right by the lake and a big beach, with a restaurant and bar on the shore. We were staying there in our motorhome while visiting Nord clinic, and it made a perfect base. Facilities are very clean and well maintained, with a washing machine and dryer too. You can park wherever suits you, and there are plenty of shaded spots for hot weather. Reception staff were friendly and happy to answer all sorts of questions. At €22 including electricity, it’s very reasonable, and a bus stops right outside for trips to Kaunas City and Old Town.

The area is close to the city, but it gets crowded and confusing because there are no marked or reserved pitches. The asphalt area behind reception is a good spot. You can park a caravan and get electricity, and there are toilet and shower facilities, though the water was cold. The whole site closes at 10 p.m., so you can’t leave unless you borrow a key for €5 to use the pedestrian gate.

We’ve stayed at this campsite with our family several times and have always found it welcoming. The beach is right there, the location is fantastic, and the staff and people we’ve dealt with have been courteous and helpful. I’ve read complaints about the site closing at 10 p.m., but we find that reassuring and feel secure when settling down to sleep. We’ll be back. Thanks very much.

The beach next to the campsite is wide and pleasant, with lifeguards, and the city center is easy to reach. There’s a kitchen, fridge, electric stove, and clean toilets and shower rooms. It’s well located and cheap, but the nearby roads are very busy and noisy, so I couldn’t stay long. The site closes after 10 p.m.
