The food was the bright spot: breakfast was really tasty, and so was the restaurant meal. The bathrooms had mould and the showers didn’t work properly. In the first room, barely any water came through. The TVs looked like they’d last seen the end of the Soviet Union, and the place is way overpriced.

I wouldn’t stay here in July or August. With no air conditioning or temperature control, the room turns into a microwave once summer heat hits, above 30°C. There’s no lift either, so hauling heavy bags upstairs is a struggle. Apart from that, the hotel is quite nice, and the rooms are clean and pleasant.

The rooms are roomy, and mine had a heated towel rack in the bathroom. The restaurant food was great, and the staff were wonderful. There’s no elevator, but the staff helped me get my large, heavy luggage upstairs.

We arrived in Mazeikiai without having booked a room, but a friend managed to reserve two for us. The hotel was flexible, which we really appreciated. The rooms have been renovated and looked clean and very good. Staff were lovely, and breakfast was good. I’d definitely come back and recommend it. Just bear in mind there’s no elevator, which might be difficult for older people.
