The setting is lovely, from the building and rooms to the balcony. With clean water, it could be a nice spot for morning tea, and the breakfast buffet was good at 10€. But the shower water smelled strongly of sewage, rotten eggs, and sulphur. The fridge had a smell too, possibly smoked fish or meat. The bathroom wasn't very clean, with brown buildup between the tiles and in the corners. Even the nice breakfast coffee couldn't make up for the awful shower water. There was also an unpleasant 15€ charge that was eventually sorted out as a misunderstanding, which is why I haven't given this a 1-star review. The cocktails were dreadful as well. I paid 12€ for a ginger cocktail with barely a hint of ginger, diluted so much with water that it tasted like something from the end of a very drunken student party. I poured mine down the toilet. They don't respond to any communication.

We only stopped in for coffee and a cold drink, but the building was beautiful and the outdoor seating was good. The young guys working today were so polite and cheerful, a real credit to the hotel.

I didn't enjoy the food and won't be coming back. The fish soup was mostly potatoes, with no fish that I could find or taste, and the pizza was oily. The waiters were young and seemed inexperienced.
