It’s a clean, simple place that works well for a short stay, with a fair price for what you get. It seems mostly set up for families, and being able to bring pets is a big plus. It’s away from the main street, so it’s quiet. The parking is badly managed, though, with very few spaces because Žalias Namas shares the lot with another hotel.

For the price, it’s a decent place with the basics: a toilet and shower, tiny fridge, some dishes, TV, and heated bathroom floor. The bathroom heater is flimsy and gets extremely hot, water stays in the shower, and the curtains don’t fully cover the windows. There’s no kitchenette, and the whole place could use repairs and renovation.

Good value for breakfast, and they start serving at 10 am.

The fish meal was great!

The café food was awful. The menu listed chicken soup and fish fillet steaks with fries. I checked with the waiter that the fish really was fillet before ordering. The soup arrived with bread, but it was sorrel soup instead of chicken, and the bread was moldy. The soup itself was edible, maybe 7 out of 10. Then came the supposed fillet steaks, but inside was some kind of ground-up mush, perhaps flour and starch, with a fishy smell. Staff didn’t offer a replacement, just asked me to pay for the soup. Very bad!
