I booked a room because I had work in Differdange the next morning. It was adequate and immaculately clean, though there was no air conditioning, which seems normal in Luxembourg. Lasauvage is picturesque, and there's a lovely biodiversity trail behind the hotel for a scenic walk before dinner. The unexpected highlight was dinner, with some of the best restaurant food I've ever had. It's off the beaten track, but worth travelling for. The seasonal menu is written on a chalkboard rather than printed. The three-course meal costs €55, already good value, and with a surprise amuse bouche and delicious lime sorbet with homemade orange rum, it felt like five courses. The wine list is extensive. Wine is comparatively expensive for the continent, as is usual in Luxembourg, but a very good Viognier was a reasonable €35. Breakfast the next morning had everything anyone could want, and the coffee was amazing. I'd love to have a reason to come back someday.

My stay here was awful. The room was filthy, with dust, grime and poor hygiene everywhere, and the host was rude and unhelpful. While we were out, staff went through our private belongings without permission, showing no respect for our privacy. The cafeteria food was cold, had human hair in it, and was prepared in exposed, unhygienic conditions. Never staying here again.
