Hotel Empire

The bed could have been a little more comfortable, but I was satisfied with everything else. For the location, I don’t think you can find a better value hotel in Luxembourg. I’d definitely choose it again if I come back.

The towels were so rough they felt like sandpaper. Otherwise, a good hotel right across from the station, which is ideal if you’re traveling by public transport. The room was clean and comfortable, with a small sitting area. With the windows shut, the sound insulation was fine and city noise didn’t bother me.

It’s convenient for a night’s sleep, right across the road from the station. But the soundproofing is almost nonexistent, and what seems like construction issues let a cold draft blow across the room even with the heating turned all the way up. It was okay for one night, but I wouldn’t want to stay longer, especially in the cold season.

I won’t book here again. Every time room service came in, something was left out of place: the bin wasn’t put back together properly once, my pyjamas were tossed on the armchair instead of tucked under the blanket after the bed was made another time, and once they left a bottle of cleaning agent in the shower. Each thing was small, but the repeated irritations added up. The rooms are generally good, though those facing the train station are noisy until late at night. Most staff were friendly, but some seemed quite uninterested in their jobs. Breakfast was acceptable, not good. It’s okay for a night or two, but I wouldn’t stay longer.
