The staff were friendly, and the rooms looked refurbished. The shower had good pressure and warm water. There wasn’t a heater in our room during the stay, but they gave us one to use when the temperature dropped in the constant rain. Room service was good, though the quality varied, and they left bottled water. It was easy to get a bus into Luxembourg city, and we found free parking near the train stop, a three-minute walk without luggage. The street and rooms were fairly quiet, although from our room on level 1 in Block B, we could sometimes hear noise from the dinner tables. There’s a restaurant attached, and the buffet breakfast was €22/pax/day. We chose not to have it, and there was no hard sell. A few things could be better. There wasn’t enough light above the sink to see myself in the mirror. Some damp patches were under the two side tables after I pulled them from the wall to reach the sockets. Our tissue box had only two tissues on arrival, so I went to the front desk for a replacement. The smoking spot right outside the Block B entrance meant I often walked straight into a wall of smoke.

The meal was disappointing for what it cost, and the service seemed off that day. We’d booked the ‘menu dégustation’ for my mom’s birthday with 13 of us, but were told we’d have to take the ‘small menu’ instead. It didn’t feel up to standard. A pretty mixed experience, and nothing to write home about.

The hotel itself was excellent. I’m just not used to bathrooms and toilets without doors, so the smells and dampness get into the room. Maybe that’s a local feature I haven’t figured out yet.

I picked somewhere outside the centre hoping for a quiet stay, but I was exhausted every day and regret booking this place. In room 310, I got no more than 4-5 broken hours of sleep a night across all five nights. Noise from the hallway, the room above, and the street kept jolting me awake, even with earplugs. The hotel leaves earplugs in the room, which says a lot. There’s no air conditioning or heating either. I imagine it must get like a furnace in summer. If sleep matters to you, avoid this hotel. I wouldn’t come back.
