Hôtel Pax

The three-bed room had plenty of space and a large bathroom, and everything was very clean. The breakfast buffet was really good, with friendly, attentive staff. The hotel sits a little outside the main town area, but transport is a short walk away. There are also a few quite nice restaurants nearby.

The rooms were fine, and the hotel has a good place for breakfast and dinner. It’s also handy for bus and tram stops. Parking was the one snag, since a space isn’t guaranteed.

Breakfast had lots to choose from, including eggs, bacon and sausage, plus delicious bread. Our triple room was spacious, and the beds were comfortable, with extra pillows available. There was a large bathroom with both a bath and shower, along with a fridge, air conditioning and complimentary water. The minibar cost extra. Slippers, soap and shower gel were provided in the bathroom. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the transport links were good. We had a great visit and would stay again.

The room was bright enough at 5:00 AM to make sleeping past that time impossible, because the curtains and blinds were so thin. The TV had no signal, the Wi-Fi didn’t work at all, and the air conditioning barely cooled the stuffy room. The shower had visible mold, and the bathroom felt cramped. Breakfast was limited and poor quality, nothing like the praise I’d seen. When we raised the Wi-Fi problem, the front desk said it might be an issue on the second floor but worked on their systems. They offered no apology or fix. Our summer stay was a complete letdown compared with what we expected from the glowing Booking and Google reviews. I can’t understand the hotel’s high ratings, or the claims of excellent Wi-Fi and delicious breakfast. If comfort, cleanliness and a decent night’s sleep matter to you, avoid this place. I still can’t believe how disappointing it was.
