Mama Shelter Luxembourg

The rooms were lovely, and I had the best shower I’ve ever had. I’d stay again if I’m in town. Our flight was canceled and we were given a room at Mama Shelter, which turned out to be one of my best nights there. The place is abstract, modern, and chic, almost like a little art gallery when you walk in. Staff were nice and professional. There’s a luxury restaurant and bar at the entrance, plus a sit-down bakery and cafe downstairs. I wish I’d taken more photos, it was quite an experience. 11/10 recommend. Till then, let’s travel.

The restaurant felt atmospheric and pleasant, and the food was good. We had mortadella and burrata pizzas with two cocktails. The burrata could have been a little bigger, with a thinner outer shell, but the pizza was filling and enjoyable. The hotel concept is interesting. If you don’t know what to expect, some things might seem unusual and catch you off guard at first. Our room was clean, well made, modern, and furnished.

Lamia gave me some of the best service I’ve had while dining. She was friendly and engaging, and mentioned at the end of the meal that she was still on a trial period as a waitress. Management, hire her!

The rooms are comfortable, well designed, and equipped, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was good too, though €26 is a bit steep. But the music from the bar was so loud on the 1st floor that I could hear every word of the DJ set and had no chance of sleeping. I asked to move in the morning and was put on the 5th floor, where it was still audible. Definitely not a place for a light sleeper if you need quiet.
