Novotel Luxembourg Kirchberg

The breakfast was delicious and had a lot to choose from, including pastries, hot food, bread, cereal, fruit, yogurt, meat and cheese. I especially appreciated the many gluten-free options, and the staff were helpful when I asked what was safe for me to eat. The restaurant also serves lunch and dinner, though we didn’t try it. I didn’t see a children’s menu, but I didn’t ask whether they had one. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. The staff were helpful, and instead of just leaving our bags while we explored, we were able to get into our room early. The children received a game and coloring pack, and I got a guidebook and map. They also offered us a different room with a larger bed. Our room was spacious, with a comfortable bed, fridge, safe, hairdryer, and plenty of sockets for charging devices. For getting around, the tram stop is two minutes away on foot. It takes about 15 minutes to reach the airport and the city center, where Hamilius is a good stop for the sights. The tram also goes to the train station, though we didn’t need it. A shopping center and cinema complex with restaurants are about five minutes away by tram. We had a great stay, and I’d recommend the hotel as a base for exploring Luxembourg city.

The hotel was clean overall, and the family room was big enough for four. We slept comfortably, and the breakfast selection was good. But if you arrive after 08:30, the wait for breakfast can get quite long, even though breakfast closes at 10:00 either way. That setup didn’t work very well. Housekeeping also left the towels unchanged and didn’t vacuum the room, despite us telling the front desk that morning.

It’s in a convenient spot, with a good Italian restaurant next door, and I’d stay here again. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The only reason for my lower rating is that I was placed beside the elevators, where it got noisy at times during the evening.

I was at the Novotel in Kirchberg for 18 nights on a business trip, and the spacious, modern rooms made for a very good stay. The staff were friendly, spoke multiple languages, and were always willing to help with requests. Junco’s breakfast was fantastic. The housekeeping let it down a bit: mugs and cutlery were rinsed in the bathroom sink instead of being replaced, and they still looked dirty and stained afterward. The rooms also weren’t vacuumed regularly. That was what kept me from giving five stars.
