The hotel’s in a nice spot with good views. The continental breakfast was included in the room price and was okay, but the decor feels decades old and really needs updating.

We booked three rooms and liked the location, the views, and the friendly welcome. The hotel itself felt tired and faded, though. There’s hardly any space at reception and no seats, and the bedrooms and bathrooms need refurbishment. The bedsheets were blue or yellow poly-cotton with elasticated edges, rather than white cotton. Mine felt damp, so I asked for a fresh set and had to put it on myself. Breakfast was basic, with very little choice.

The restaurant was a highlight, with great food and even better wine. Try the reisling! The room was clean and looked out over vineyards toward Germany. Staff were really friendly and helpful too. After a day of travel, I realized I’d left my bag on the bus, and the man at reception called the bus company and helped me get it back. We stayed two nights. Très BIEN!!
