It was nice and clean, with helpful, polite staff. The auberge has a very German look, even though it’s in Luxembourg, and sits beside the Moselle, across from Germany. We enjoyed watching all the boats and barges go by, especially one moving through a lock.

At this price, it’s very good compared with other hotels in the same category along the Moselle. The room is large and spacious, the welcome friendly, and dogs are welcome. The evening meal was good. The bathroom is simple and basic but functional, and breakfast was sufficient.

The hotel faces the Moselle, with Germany across the river, and is well located. It’s rather outdated, though. At 9:20 PM we had trouble getting the door open, even though the hotel closes at 10 PM. Reception felt rushed and somewhat neglected. Staff were available at breakfast, which wasn’t bad.

The people were very friendly and helpful, but the room itself is basic. Breakfast could have had a bit more variety. It’s a shame there’s no terrace, or that the owner hasn’t made sure the windows onto their terrace can open fully. That would definitely be a plus.
