Standard rooms don't have air conditioning; it's included in the suites. The hotel is conveniently placed for getting to Riga. Check-in was quick and easy, and the employees were friendly and spoke English well. Inga deserves special mention for her outstanding service. She was knowledgeable about local places to visit and very helpful.

We woke up to find there was no water in the hotel, so we couldn't shower, use the toilet, or brush our teeth. At reception, they seemed not to care and said an engineer might come by sometime to fix it. There was no apology or effort to make things easier. When I asked for a refund, they offered me a “drink of coffee” instead and just stared blankly. Eventually they moved us to another branch down the road, which was even worse and rude. The rooms there were tiny and damaged, with no amenities or bedside tables, no tea or coffee, and bare wires hanging from the wall. The hotel and staff were truly disgusting. Even one star feels generous. The worst hotel experience I've had in over 30 years. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!

The hotel is lovely and the location is amazing. Ingrid at reception knew so much about places to visit and things to see. If you're used to air conditioning as an American, expect warm rooms, especially if you visit in July.
