Dinner and breakfast were both delicious, with a good menu and plenty of soft drinks to choose from. The hotel was well placed for our stay, though the petrol station for a late-night snack was a 15-minute walk away. I was hungry! The staff were nice, and the room was clean, with a toilet, shower room, and TV. We really enjoyed the stay.

The lake is about 400m away, so it’s nice for a morning walk. A clean, comfortable place in Latgale, and the service was really helpful. Thanks, Emil.

Easy to find, and close to the park. The local store isn’t too far if you need to pick up food. It’s the only hotel in town, with friendly staff and clean, tidy rooms. They’re standard and a bit small. I enjoyed the coffee and dessert.

The café attached to the hotel serves nice food, and both the café and hotel staff are very friendly. Their English isn’t perfect for international travelers, but it’s easy enough to communicate. There are lots of shops nearby, since it’s right in central Balvi, the main town in the district. The shower is good, and the hotel is very functional. My room was quite small, and whenever I opened the window, a lot of flies got in. Some netting would help keep them out. Still, it’s in a great location and works well.

Honestly, the attitude made this a poor experience, and I wouldn’t recommend the place. The receptionist gave me no information about WiFi, breakfast, or checkout time. I had to call the guy so he would come to reception and I could get a reservation for my room. Sorry, but the attitude, and then more of the same, was not good.
