The rooms were clean, but they’re looking tired, and the bed was hard as a board with weak, flat pillows. The location is handy for seeing the castle. Breakfast was okay: eggs and bacon, some savory and sweet options, toast, plus good coffee and OJ.

The restaurant is popular, with hearty portions and a pleasant atmosphere, and the breakfast was tasty. This small hotel is right in the center, making a handy base for Cesis and the surrounding area. Service was warm and very attentive, and there’s private parking in the yard. On a rainy day, the hotel owners even gave our motorbike a waterproof cover as a courtesy. Thank you, hotel Province! Highly recommended.

By the time the food arrived, we were so hungry from the long wait that it’s hard to say if that’s why it seemed pretty good. Service was slow and bad, the beer was warm, the bread stale, and portions stingy. The staff here don’t like foreigners.

It’s a small, comfortable hotel near the city center, with a free parking spot. Breakfast is available at an affordable price, and the WiFi was okay.

A pleasant atmosphere, big portions, and food presented with care. The overall quality is great if you’re looking for a good meal.
