The owner was my first problem. She wanted to send messages in English or German, but when I wrote in English, she switched to Russian, which I had never said I knew. When we called because she usually wasn’t at the guest house, she started in Russian and then changed to German. Luckily my girlfriend knows some German, or we’d have had a hard time understanding each other. What I found worst was that she told me in Russian, which I could barely understand, that we could stay for two nights and then had to disappear after 12 AM. Booking said we needed to return the keys at 1 PM, and it was rude to say this after we’d already paid for the accommodation. The bathroom was terrible. We’d lost our shampoo but weren’t worried because the room price was supposed to include free toiletries. The only free item was liquid soap. The toilet flush button was broken, and we had to figure out how to deal with it ourselves. There was even a motion detector in our room, which I think is sick to leave switched on when guests are staying. And the swimming pool was the creme de la creme: old, dirty, and full of dead bugs and spiders. We looked for the sauna mentioned somewhere but couldn’t find one. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

A cosy, no-frills flat with what you need in an apartment. Be prepared, though, the landlady or receptionist speaks ONLY RUSSIAN.

There are lots of bathrooms, so it works fine for parties. I was a bit uneasy about the owners coming and going through the house without warning.

The actual apartments don’t look like the pictures online. I wouldn’t recommend this place even to my enemies.
