The guard said our room was due for renovation soon, so perhaps future guests will have a better experience. We were in room 2, and paying extra for a better room might be a better choice. At first the hotel seemed decent, but we kept finding problems: hair, litter, and unwashed towels, then insects on the bed at night. It was hot, and even opening the window all the way barely helped. The right side of the bed had stains and looked like someone had vomited on it. The TV didn’t work, the shower door was broken, and the blanket had three or four burn holes. There was also a hole in the bathroom door, stained curtains, and a broken toilet seat.

The parking and location were the only good parts. The bed was full of bed bugs, and I woke up with bites all over my hands and legs. The rooms were very hot, with a small window and no air circulation. All the furniture was very old and mostly damaged or broken. The service staff speak only Russian or Latvian.

The mattress was so bad that my back and muscles hurt after every night, and after our three-night stay I was very glad to leave. The room was dark and cramped, with a small window and poor airflow, and it got hot. They didn’t change the towels, which started smelling quickly. There was no fridge and no kitchen option.

The sea is really close, about an 8-minute walk, and there’s a very nice restaurant just 2 minutes away. It was OK to stay here. I’ve since learned that parking is free for guests, so I’ll be visiting again next year! :)

The price is good for an overnight stay, and it’s near the beach with free parking for guests. The hostel reception could use some improvement.
