Hotel Lielupe by SemaraH

The breakfast was very good and high quality, one of the better parts of my stay. I paid to upgrade my room, but the furniture in it was dirty and had damaged corners, and the ventilation was very loud, so the room wasn't comfortable. The wellness center was the biggest letdown. It felt like an unsupervised public pool, with children and teenagers jumping into the water onto other guests and creating a real safety risk. The saunas were crowded, with people waiting in line. A spa receptionist was there in the pool area, but didn't say anything or try to keep things orderly or safe. The room and the way the wellness center was run really didn't meet expectations.

The spa treatment was excellent, and I liked having tea in the area afterward. That part gets five stars. Overall, four, because reception felt unwelcoming. One of the two women there was very grumpy and didn't seem suited to greeting guests.

We had a very nice time here for a few nights in August, with family and friends for my birthday dinner. The dinner went smoothly, there was an impressive amount of food, and every dish tasted great. I was happy with the service, drinks, food, and atmosphere. Our rooms were clean and nice, recently renovated, and the small balcony was a lovely extra. The rooms and bathrooms are small, but had everything we needed. We'd come back.

The hotel felt relaxing, the staff were accommodating, and we really enjoyed our stay. Our clean, comfortable room helped make it a pleasant visit. The meal coupons seemed to offer a repetitive menu at first, but when we asked, the staff kindly let us choose freely from the menu, which made things much better. Housekeeping didn't come for about three days, though they took care of the cleaning promptly once we requested it. I'd recommend Lielupe Hotel by Semarah and give it four stars.
