The receptionist was pleasant, and the clean sheets were there for me to put on myself. But the room looked as if it hadn't been cleaned for months. The shower was moldy, the toilet seat was broken, and the door handles were caked with dirt. I kept my shoes on. The mattress was dirty too, though I didn't find any bugs. I don't think most of the other residents were tourists. They seemed to be middle-aged and older men. The price is unbelievably high. Stay away if you can.

It's very cheap, with a shared room costing 6 lats, and the area feels safe, right by a police station. Still, I wouldn't recommend sharing unless you're comfortable rooming with strangers who speak Russian. Private rooms are probably okay. The hostel is nothing like the cleanest in the Baltic countries, as its website claims. There were piles of cigarette ash nobody cleaned, the windows were so dirty you could hardly see through them, and the room table was sticky.

For a hostel in a good location, this is very cheap. It wasn't as high quality as I expected, but it had the basics I needed: a good bed, clean sheets and towels, and a good host.

We booked a family room for two adults and two children, but were given only two sheets and two pillowcases. They said they had no more. The place was terribly dirty, smelled inexplicably bad and felt completely unsanitary. We arrived at 2:30 a.m. and were out by 8:00 a.m., fleeing this so-called wonderful hostel. We paid 33 euros for the night. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. This was terrible, and one star was the lowest I could give.
