I’ve had a lot of good breakfasts at places I’ve visited, but this one really stood out. The buildings and rooms are breathtaking, and running around the mansion grounds was a treat. The staff did their part to make everything feel superb. I’d come back for that breakfast, and I strongly recommend stopping here if you pass by.

The grounds are beautiful, and you can see how much care has gone into the details. The staff were very kind and flexible with our requests. We meant to stay two nights, but the limited check-in hours meant we could only stay one.

I can’t speak to the place itself, but the service was poor. Guests arriving after 8 pm are charged an extra 20 euros per booking guest. Getting to a countryside hotel by 8 can be difficult when you’re not nearby, and they wouldn’t agree to leave the keys in a safe box, even though we planned to stay more than one night. This fee wasn’t mentioned on booking.com when we made the reservation. Things turned into an ugly dispute. The owner didn’t answer the phone, stayed behind closed doors, switched off the reception lights so we’d think she’d left, and locked the gate at the road before driving away. Both sides could have compromised, but an adult should be able to face a problem. They chose to lose 288 euros rather than drop the extra charge for arriving at 10 pm.

A beautiful place with real historical value, lovingly brought back to life. You can experience it for yourself, and I’d gladly return again and again!
