We had a lovely stay. Elena, the host, was so sweet and showed us around the house and the area. I’d definitely recommend it :)

We didn’t want to leave this wonderful log cabin tucked into the forest. Gary and Elena gave us a warm welcome and showed us around, and they were there for any questions. We had everything we needed for a short break, including a peaceful, immaculate garden where we could sunbathe. In the evening, we relaxed by the log fire and spent a couple of hours in the sauna. Breakfast outside in the morning sunshine, with only birdsong around us, was lovely. The location is handy too, about a 15-minute drive from the Airport, with supermarkets, shops and restaurants a short drive away. Thanks, Gary and Elena.

I had booked Forest edge House in Riga for three nights, but had to cancel because of some issues. The day after I cancelled, the owner messaged me with offensive and inappropriate insults, calling us time wasters and idiots. I was shocked that someone in hospitality would behave like that. I can hardly believe this could happen nowadays. Stay away from this property and these hosts if you don’t want to be treated in such an unacceptable way.

The house was spacious and had everything we needed. It’s quite close to the airport, and planes fly low overhead, so there was some noise even though the area is otherwise quiet. That didn’t bother us. Riga centre and the beach are both very nearby, and everything was perfect for us.

We still look back fondly on our stay in March 2017. The lodge was cosy and the hosts were lovely. It’s great to see the renovated house now, it looks really beautiful. Kind regards, Anna and Robert
