Rixwell Elefant Hotel

Breakfast was a real strong point, with plenty of choice, nice presentation, lots of seating and a clean layout that worked well even at busy times. Staff were polite, helpful and easy to talk to, which made everything smoother. My fourth-floor room had a lovely open view, with no buildings blocking it, and felt quiet and relaxing. It was comfortable, clean, simple and practical, and a good size for the price. Nothing luxurious, but better than average for similar hotels in Riga. I stayed recently and the experience exceeded what I'd expected from a four-star property. Good value and a reliable stay. I'll add photos and videos for a fuller picture.

I was really pleased with my stay. The hotel is clean and cozy, and the restaurant staff are friendly and attentive. Dinner was delicious, served quickly and presented beautifully. Walking into the room and finding my name on the welcome card made me feel so welcome. Special thanks to KATERINA at reception for her warm, caring hospitality. I was completely satisfied.

Breakfast completely changed my impression. There was a great range of food, and even the desserts, which I usually skip at hotels, were creamy and nicely balanced. I went back for plenty, birthday excuse and all. For the affordable price, it felt like a five-star stay. We arrived late and tired, and I was already in a picky mood. I didn’t want to hand over my card details for possible minibar charges, but Katerina handled it well and offered a cash deposit that would be returned at checkout. She’d noticed it was my birthday and brought sparkling wine, plus a sweet for our one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. The room did have a too-soft mattress, a TV remote that likely needed batteries, and hot water that wasn’t hot enough for me.

I’ve stayed here several times over the past few years and will probably come back. It’s clean, well located near the city center, and has a good restaurant and bar. The plumbing is the persistent problem. Water pressure has been low in every room I’ve tried, the temperature can suddenly swing hot or cold, and each visit brought dark brown water from the tap. I’ve mentioned it every time, but nothing has changed since 2023.
