Wellton Riga Hotel & SPA

The location was very good, and the hotel was clean and comfortable, with a nice breakfast. Still, it left a poor impression. One room was missing a couple of spa robes, and none were provided after we asked. The baby crib in another room was squeezed between the bed and window, leaving no room to put a foot down. How are you meant to lift a baby like that? At reception, we had to show proof that one night was already paid because they wanted to charge us again. I don’t understand how the system works if staff can’t see a payment.

We were there over Christmas, when the hotel was very busy, and the reception team stayed patient, smiling, and dedicated through what must have been challenging days. Our granddaughter left her phone in the children’s playroom, and someone honestly handed it in to reception. That Christmas surprise meant a lot to us, thank you so much. The rooms were clean, cozy, and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice, and the champagne on Christmas morning made it feel festive. A wonderful hotel in central Riga, and we recommend it warmly. Thank you for helping our family of seven from Lithuania make such lovely memories.

The hotel was good value for what we paid, and I’d stay again for the location and cleanliness. We were there for four nights, and it’s a great base for exploring the old town. The room was clean, with a well-equipped bathroom, and about average size for a city centre hotel, on the small side. Breakfast buffet was underwhelming; it did the job, but I didn’t particularly look forward to it. The room got really hot, so we kept the window open and then heard a lot of city noise. Sleep wasn’t great during the trip. Staff did what they needed to, nothing more.

Breakfast was excellent, and the location was very good. The shared areas and room looked clean and well kept. The main drawback was the soundproofing: we could hear some noise from the corridor and neighboring rooms, and street sounds came through the windows too.
