Camping Juras Priedes

The place was very green and close to the beach, with few people around and lots of quiet. The showers had hot water, the toilets were clean and always had toilet paper, and everything seemed well maintained. The staff were friendly and spoke English.

Prices keep going up while the infrastructure falls apart, so the value for money is poor. The cottage was messy and unclean, the bed was broken, and the refrigerator didn’t work. The hot tub cost plenty, yet we were offered a cold one.

We had a lovely stay and were warmly welcomed and seen off by the friendly staff. The place is atmospheric and right by the sea, with plenty of ways to stay: tents among the houses and trees, tent pitches on sandy ground, log houses, or cabins. We spent a few nights sleeping in the car, then moved into one of the small barrel cabins on the hills. There are fire spots around, and each house has a grill. The site also has several toilets, warm showers, and a small kitchen container with a stove and fridge. Kids have a few play areas, and it’s easy to explore the nearby woods and beaches. There are several shops in the village; the closest is a 15-minute walk away. We enjoyed our time here a lot! 💚

The sea is very close, the pizza is okay, and the reception staff are really friendly. But the camping area is hard to use: it’s mostly little hills, or you end up pitching almost in the parking area. The site is next to a port that operates 24 hours, and there don’t seem to be noise rules. On a Wednesday, people held a wedding here. They were kind enough to turn the music down at 22:15 after a nice conversation, but karaoke started up again at 2:15 at night. And hey :) don’t leave your beer in the fridge ;)
