The location is great, but the hotel is shabby. At around £20 a night, I'd say stay somewhere else and pay a bit more. Most staff were great, but the young man on the evening and night reception shift was difficult. He turned check-in into a dreadful hour and a half before he finally let us stay. The rooms are dated, scruffy, and worn, though I didn't see any bugs. Beds were old and threadbare, but the sheets were clean. I never turned on the very old TV. The corridors were shabby and dim, the doors looked battered, and the carpets were heavily worn. Wi-Fi near reception was poor to nonexistent. I liked the local-style breakfast: bread, boiled eggs, olives, salad, pastries, pancakes, butter, jam, honey, tea, and coffee. They also serve a glass of orange juice and a portion of cheese. The pool was chilly, with a big grease and grime mark at the waterline. The furniture was worn and dirty, but staff did clean the pool area every morning. The beach and cable car are both five minutes away, and taxis are everywhere. There's a good local restaurant beside the hotel and plenty more within a 20-minute walk. Uniprix supermarket is just behind it, with cheap wine and beer, since there aren't many bars around. It is a Muslim country, after all.

I'm here for two weeks, and I've enjoyed it. The hotel could do with refurbishment, but the low reviews seem unfair to me. I haven't seen a cockroach or any bed bugs, and nobody's bitten me. The staff are polite and helpful. The menu is for snacks, and everything I've eaten has been fresh, with exceptional service. The TVs are old and there's only one English channel, but if you want to watch TV, why come here? A couple of cracked tiles shouldn't ruin a holiday, and there's no bad smell. I hear some noise from the bar, but it's just people having fun and hasn't bothered me. I've slept well. I've added some photos to show people what to expect. It's a five-minute walk to the beach and to Uniprix, where a bottle of wine costs 40 MAD, about €3.50. AL Fassia, a fantastic Moroccan restaurant, is a minute away beside the hotel. To the right are cafes with friendly service, fresh food, coffee, tea, juices, shakes, salads, omelettes, paninis and chips, all really cheap. Taxis cost about €2 to most places in the orange taxis. The yellow ones run on the meter and are more for trips to the airport and such. The shower water is always hot, and I've enjoyed swimming in the pool. It's cool but not freezing, and it's 3.5 meters deep, so you can dive in. The bathrooms do have limescale stains, but you can get toilet gel at Uniprix and scrub them with the toilet brush. The staff are paid very little and work hard. I do some cleaning myself to give the woman a break. Remember, this is Morrocco, where many people have to beg for food. Shame on the government for that. Some people polish shoes or wash cars all day to earn enough to feed themselves, so keep that in mind when you visit. This is a lovely hotel. If you want five stars, pay for five stars. I'll come back in March or April and be grateful.

The beds are really comfortable and smell clean, and I've been here three days without seeing a single bug. The coffee is amazing, the food's delicious and super cheap, and the staff are lovely, helpful, and always well spoken. On my first day I felt really ill, so I asked my partner to go down and get me something to eat and drink. The staff told him to come back upstairs and said they'd bring food to us. What amazing people. I checked the reviews before coming and almost cancelled, but I'm glad I didn't. It's old-fashioned, sure, but absolutely amazing for what you pay. It's not luxury or posh, and at around £20 a night I don't know what more people expect. It has a bar, restaurant, and everything we needed. There's no air conditioning or fridge in the room, but we didn't really need them. The music from the bar is the one downside, though it's easy enough to sleep through. I haven't tried breakfast, so can't comment on that. The lovely receptionist always checks that we've got what we need. Five stars from me, and I'll definitely be back. I recommend it. I think many people who leave bad reviews didn't get everything they wanted, but you can't expect loads when you aren't paying loads.

It has a charm of its own. Taxes aren't included, so that's another 10 euros per day. I'd suggest adding the breakfast at 49dhms per day only after you've seen it. There are plenty of really nice cafes outside the hotel, and it's well placed for the beach.

The location worked really well, about 10 minutes on foot to the beach and 40 minutes to the souk. The rooms weren't very clean, and you could hear every sound through the walls. At night, the music was really loud.
