Hotel Argana

We were about a 10-12 minute walk from the beach, with plenty of restaurants nearby. The location is one of the hotel’s best features. I found the front desk team helpful, and housekeeping was exceptional. They were efficient, always on time, and quick to answer my questions. The team at Argana was helpful too. We had breakfast included. It was a reasonable spread for the price, with enough variety, though nothing spectacular. The eggs and flatbread were very nice. I stayed four nights with friends. Our room was average and didn’t look much like the photos. I think we were in the older, more dated rooms at the far end of the hotel. A light stopped working on the second day, but staff responded. Rooms near the front are probably more modern.

The breakfast was amazing, especially the made-to-order omelette, and the rooms were clean with top-notch service. Front desk staff were very friendly and went the extra mile to help. The man and woman at the excursion desk were lovely and explained everything in detail, and housekeeping staff were kind and respectful. There’s lots of entertainment around the shisha area and the bar outside by the pool. The pool would be nice if it were heated, though the water was very cold.

The spa alone was amazing. We visited it three times during our week there, and every visit was a great experience. The staff were welcoming, kind, and professional. The massages were so relaxing, and they checked that the pressure felt right. It was clean and well cared for. The sauna was spacious, private, and clean, with towels laid out for you to lie down on, plus a headrest and water brought over. So peaceful and relaxing. The hotel has brilliant facilities and a great location too. Honestly, I couldn’t recommend the hotel and spa enough.

The rooms are shabby and nothing close to a four-star place, despite being advertised as 4*. Check the 1* reviews before making the mistake of booking. We didn’t. Breakfast was an unforgettable experience, in a bad way. Dog food is usually better quality. The doors need a hard slam to close, some furniture is falling apart, and the toilet seat is old, dirty, and slides around. The pool music is extremely loud every night until 1-1:30, so you can’t watch TV, talk, or relax. Wi-Fi doesn’t work anywhere except reception.
