Residence Tafat

The staff were friendly and very helpful. The location worked well, with shops and places to eat an easy walk away. Our room was spacious, the balcony looked out onto a nice garden, and the shower had lots of hot water with strong pressure. The bed was comfortable, apart from the pillows. There were several drawbacks. The bathroom smelled of leaking sewage, and the garden, though inviting, had no seating at all. A few chairs and tables would make a big difference. The pillows were much too big and hard, and seriously disrupted our sleep. Some nights there was a lot of noise from a band somewhere behind the property. The kitchen was poorly equipped. Touching the ring or the kettle while it was plugged in gave an electric shock, and boiling just two glasses of water took a very long time. The fridge worked, but there was water pooled in the bottom when we arrived. The TV kept turning off for about ten seconds after playing for about a minute, so it was impossible to watch. Payment was cash only. I was the one who didn’t think I’d need air conditioning in November, but I was wrong. Daytime highs were in the low thirties and nights in the mid-twenties. A ceiling fan would have helped a lot.

The location was good, about a 10-minute walk to the beach. We’d booked for two nights looking for a budget, no-frills place to sleep. The room was dated and very basic, but clean enough, with a balcony overlooking a nice garden. The balcony door didn’t feel very secure. It was just a single pane of glass with a chunk missing near the handle. WiFi reception in the room was terrible. We paid 572 dh for two nights. I’d stay here again only if we found a really cheap deal, since we later found somewhere cheaper with similar or possibly better rooms.

The staff were friendly, and the beach is within walking distance. There’s a grocery store right across the street. The room had everything needed, including a small kitchen, and the balcony looked over a lovely green garden where there was plenty of space to sit and relax.

It’s good value, close to the beach, and the hosts are nice. The rooms are simple but spacious and very comfortable, with a small sitting area, a fridge, and a basic kitchen. We even had a balcony.
