For a quiet escape, Tigmi Nomade Riad is hard to beat. It’s isolated among the mountains, with a lovely pool and hardly anything nearby besides a small local village near Tahnout. There are no restaurants, shops, or tourists around, which suited us because we wanted to disconnect. We mostly heard birds, a donkey, and chickens. There was just one other couple while we were there, so it felt very private and peaceful. Our suite was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The hot water was cozy after a long day, though the shower pressure was low and might bother some people. We chose that suite partly because it was advertised with a private balcony, but the balcony was shared with the room next door. That made it feel much less private, so we kept the balcony door locked and closed. Mohamed, who works full time at the riad, deserves a special mention. He was kind and professional, and although his English was limited, we had no trouble communicating. He knows what he’s doing and made sure we had what we needed. He lives on the rooftop and said we could call him any time, though we didn’t need to because everything was already taken care of. The food was amazing. We had dinner arranged in advance on our first night, and right on time a delicious chicken tajine was served by the pool. The kefta tajine the next night was just as good. Both portions were right for two, and they were the best tajines we had during our six days in Morocco. Breakfast on both mornings was excellent too, fresh and simple, with mint tea, coffee, Moroccan bread, pancakes, jam, and fried eggs. A few things would have been useful to know on arrival. We weren’t told how meals worked or whether we could choose dishes, and the food was simply brought to us. That was fine for us since we liked trying local dishes, but people with dietary needs or preferences could find it confusing. They also only take cash, no cards, so on our last day we had to go to an ATM in the nearest town to pay, which was a bit awkward but manageable. It’s a wonderful, authentic place for couples looking for peace, privacy, and Moroccan charm. Come ready to relax and enjoy the silence of the desert.

Mohamed was in touch before we arrived and helped arrange the airport transfer. We also had a guide take us on a three-hour trek to the neighboring village, with gorgeous views along the way. The rest of the weekend was spent lounging by the pool and enjoying the scenery. Tigmi Nomade is remote, but the friendly, helpful staff and delicious, hearty home-cooked meals made sure we had what we needed. It was a wonderfully relaxing weekend, and we’d definitely recommend staying here.

The roof was a brilliant spot for stargazing at night, with so little light pollution, and we had dinner there both nights. Like other reviewers, we thought it was the best Moroccan food we’d had in 11 days. The place is a little gem and such good value. I’d definitely recommend it. We spent our last two nights in Morocco at Tigmi Nomad, and it was a perfect way to finish the trip. Our room had a beautiful four-poster bed, and the decor throughout the property and gardens was done to perfection. Everything was very clean. Relaxing by the pool with gorgeous views and birds to watch was the most relaxed we’d felt in ages. We walked about 20 minutes to the top of the hill for sunrise, and you could also easily walk into the nearest town. The man managing the place for our last two days was lovely, cheerful, and friendly whenever we needed something.

The landscape around the property is spectacular, with fantastic views all around. We stayed here a few weeks ago and would highly recommend it. The host and staff made us feel warmly welcomed. A real oasis.

We loved how quiet and remote it was, and had a fantastic three-night stay. The garden is beautifully laid out, with a gorgeous view, and the dinners were delicious. They were kind to our little ones, ages two and zero, even though families with young children probably aren’t their usual target group.
