Whisper Hotel

My uncle and his wife got sick from the cold weather, cold showers, and lack of proper heating during their honeymoon. What a honeymoon. The location was also poor, far from food and nice places, and restaurants are a long way from the hotel. The food was so bad that they stopped eating there and went out instead. I booked their stay through Booking.com as half board, with breakfast and dinner. After I paid, the hotel told me by message that they only offered breakfast. When I insisted, they stopped responding to messages and emails. I called the next day, and after talking with a worker who said he needed to check with the director, they agreed to provide dinner. Why offer half board if dinner isn’t available? On the first night, my guests didn’t get the room I’d booked because, apparently, the director had brought his family and taken it, even though it was reserved. They were put in a very bad room with no blankets, heater, or hot water, and an unfinished cement floor. Staff brought a charcoal BBQ heater to warm them. That’s dangerous and stupid for a hotel to do. The second night they moved into the room I’d originally booked, but there was still no hot water. Then they were told to change rooms again, and the third room had the same problem. Why keep moving them from their booked room into bad rooms? Nobody should have to stay in those conditions. How is this legal? The hotel promised a 10% discount because of all these problems and encouraged payment outside Booking.com, but the discount never came. Save your money and health. Don’t stay here.

The staff were really helpful and spoke very good English. I stayed for one night, and the room had everything I needed. The food was good too. It was a decent room and a fine stay.

The hotel is in a quiet area, not too far from Marrakech city, and the whole team was lovely. Receptionists, waiters, and housekeeping were all friendly and professional. The concierge was especially kind and helpful, and I want to mention Mrs. Amal at reception for excellent service. The staff from Gabon were very nice and adorable. Everything was perfect.

The New Year’s Eve event was quite good, and my kids enjoyed it. The staff were the best part: from the receptionist and service team to the manager, everyone was polite. Management should take action to improve the room standards, though. I booked two rooms for New Year with my family. The AC and heater didn’t work, and it was freezing. We called reception to turn them on, but no solution was offered. The washrooms were very dirty, and the rooms smelled bad. The TV still wasn’t working after we called five times, and the sink leaked. This was only our first night, with four more to go, and I’m not sure how my kids will manage. If we can find other rooms somewhere, we’ll definitely check out. I’m a hotelier too. I didn’t want to post this publicly, but I hope it serves as a wake-up call to Whisper hotel management and to guests planning to stay here: come prepared. Sorry to share this feedback, but Whisper management needs to improve the rooms. You have the best staff working for you. All the very best.
