Villa Akhdar 14

The villa itself is one of the best houses we've visited in Marrakech. It's beautifully decorated and very well organised, and the host was welcoming and made us feel at home. It's also a great place for Instagram pictures. We loved the garden and pool, but didn't realise heating the pool would take days, so we never swam because it was too cold. The house is comfortable and felt safe, with outside security and cameras. They also provided a very comfortable baby bed, which worked well for us. The location is about 20 minutes from the city. The road has no streetlights and is a single lane with two-way traffic and no divider, so driving after dark felt somewhat dangerous. On the plus side, it was quiet and relaxing away from the city, and there were lots of books to read. The internet kept dropping out, making videos unwatchable, and even our 4G didn't work. The host said it would be fixed, but we spent the whole week without internet despite having a lot of work to do. The housekeeper came every morning and cleaned perfectly. Breakfast was a disappointment, with very few options and non-fresh orange juice. The first day we had only msemen, a Moroccan pastry, and on the third day just bread and jam. We paid quite a few times for lunch, and she's a good cook overall, but we were surprised we had to buy the groceries for her to prepare it. If you don't pay, breakfast is limited. I would have given five stars if the internet had worked and the food service had been better.
