There were no towels or toilet paper, though maybe that's normal in Morocco. The staff were friendly and courteous, and let us park our motorcycle securely. Lovely scenery, and the people in the small village were friendly too.

The view is beautiful, but that was the only good part of our visit. We came with friends for lunch and the service was terrible from beginning to end. Several things we were told were included turned out not to be, and it honestly felt like a scam. The staff weren't honest, there was no manager to speak with, and nobody seemed willing to take responsibility or help sort things out. A really frustrating, disappointing experience. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The pool was clean and refreshing after a day out exploring, and the restaurant had tasty meals at great prices. We had a fantastic stay. The rooms, staff, and relaxed but lively atmosphere all exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend it if you're after somewhere fun, affordable, and relaxing. I'll be back!

We came away feeling recharged. Sitting under a starry sky in the quiet of the Atlas Mountains was magical, and we'll definitely return next year. We spent a week at Auberge Le Refuge, one of our best holidays. It's a remote, authentic place for a relaxed break, not a sanitized five-star all-inclusive with TVs and poolside cocktails. The drive from Agadir airport takes about 90 minutes, with beautiful mountain scenery along the way. There's a little hamlet nearby, just a short walk, with a shop and a couple of cafes, so you're not totally cut off. The staff are the heart of it, a cracking bunch of lads who are happy to help with anything. Mustapha deserves a special mention for making us feel so welcome. The Moroccan food was outstanding and cheap. Tagines were large enough for two and about £6. We also had Spaghetti Bolognese for two one evening, just £2.80 in total. We ate at the auberge six of the seven nights, with big breakfasts, fresh orange juice and mint tea during the day. The whole week's food came to less than £100. A few useful things: bring cash, since they don't take cards and the nearest ATM is a 40-minute drive away in Agadir. They don't serve alcohol, so buy any you want at the airport duty-free. Our room and bathroom were basic, clean, and spacious. There is no TV, which we didn't miss. Ask at reception if you need fresh towels or anything else. Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons bring lively Moroccan music.
