Kasbah Tamadot

We loved the scenery and how relaxing the stay felt compared with Marrakech. We went for two nights at the beginning of December, and the hotel upgraded our room because one was available. The staff were lovely and willing to go above and beyond. We also had an amazing hike with the guide, and making bread was another great experience. The food varied. Lunch on our first day was amazing, and so were the desserts, but the dinner starters disappointed us. We told the waiter, and he kindly removed them from the bill. Ask for filtered water if you don't want to be charged for it with meals. The main downside was a Virgin active group staying at the same time. They were noisy, especially at meals, when several South African women were FaceTiming their families. It was rude and disruptive. Staff knew about it and had asked them to stop, but they kept going. The indoor pool was quiet and relaxing at first, with just my husband and me and another couple. Then around 12 people from the group arrived, made a lot of noise, and brought alcoholic drinks into the pool, which made me uncomfortable. They had won the holiday in a competition, but some of them were disrespectful to other guests who'd paid a lot for their stay. Kasbah Tamadot regularly hosts company events, so if a group is bothering you, tell the staff early. We'd be willing to return if we can afford it, but it's a shame that group made the stay noisy and disruptive.

We only went for dinner, and really enjoyed it. We ordered the three-course around-the-world menu, which came as different small portions, and everything was delicious. The food and drinks were high quality, and the service and atmosphere were just right. It's a special place, and the food price felt fair at about 80 EUR per person for the menu, though that's still a lot. The drinks were a different story. 1200DH for a 33cl beer is a ridiculous price, even for a high-class hotel. We pay less in most places in Switzerland 😝. Still giving five stars, partly because I had to drive, so more beers weren't an option anyway.

We only stayed two nights, but the visit felt relaxed and complete. The staff were kind to our daughter, and there was a friendly mix of American, French, and British guests. She loved being shown how to make local bread, a little moment that meant a lot. My parents have already been back three times and are just as infatuated. We'd happily return too. After a night in a Marrakech riad, the hotel driver picked us up without a hitch, navigating the busy medina easily. He spoke four languages and told us stories on the beautiful drive into the Atlas Mountains. At our request, he stopped for coffee and a viewpoint. We were greeted with drinks and a short tour, then shown to our private riad. It was beautifully finished, and our daughter couldn't believe the heated pool was just for us. She jumped in before we'd unpacked, clothes and all. Dinner was excellent, and the waiters suggested dishes we might otherwise have missed. Many staff members have worked there for over 10 years, which showed in how calmly and confidently everything was handled.

The outdoor gym, facing the mountains, was our highlight, especially with the cold plunge and tennis court nearby. All around the property, there were stunning views and photo backdrops, so it was hard to have a dull moment. The staff were warm and attentive, and the rooms and views were beautiful. Everything at this hotel in Morocco exceeded our expectations. A fantastic stay.
