Hotel Maram

I slept really well and got the rest I needed. The staff were very helpful, and for what we paid, I think it was fair. You get what you pay for.

Right in the heart of the Medina, the location was convenient, and the staff were generally friendly and accommodating. Check-in and check-out went smoothly. I stayed on the top floor, which has private showers, but there’s no lift. The rooms felt outdated and need renovation, and the power was faulty. I had to use my wallet to keep the switch in position. The amenities are basic. With room updates and better breakfast options, this place could give future guests a more enjoyable stay.

The staff were really kind, friendly, and helpful. The rooms and service are basic, which was fine since we were only there for a day. It was a different kind of stay, for sure. The location is right in the middle of the square, near the bazaar, mosque, and restaurants, which is convenient. But with the windows open for air, it was very noisy. We heard loud arguments between couples, bikes, and other activity. A fan in the room’s washroom would have helped cool it down.

Hôtel Maram was my base for four days in Tangier, and for the price it was the best bargain of my trip. It’s right in the old city, close to shops, street stalls, and plenty of places to eat. My room looked onto Rue de la Marine (the Main Street), so I could people-watch when my feet were tired. The room was small but comfortable, with a good bed, a sink and shower inside, and a shared toilet across the hall that was very clean. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. This little hostel/hotel turned out to be a pleasant surprise, and I highly recommend it to other travelers.
