The hosts made this stay memorable with their warmth and stories about local culture and traditions. Set in Aremd at the foot of Mount Toubkal, Kasbah du Roches Aremd looks out over valleys, mountains, and little villages. It’s a peaceful place to unwind after a long trek, with a traditional Berber feel. The rooms are simple but comfortable and authentic. Meals were homemade, fresh, and full of local flavors, from tajines and couscous to mint tea. If you’re trekking to Toubkal or exploring the High Atlas Mountains, I highly recommend it. It’s an experience with the people and culture as well as a place to stay.

This was one of my best meals in Morocco, where I’ve been three times. A guide recommended the place when I asked where to eat, and they welcomed us when we walked in. The beef and fig tagine was the best I’ve had.

I was heading up into Aroumd to find lunch when a man with a donkey personally directed me here. I wasn’t disappointed, the lunch, service, and views were all great.
