Hotel Toubkal

The place was calm and cool, and the people were nice to stay with. It’s in a very nice location, with Hotel Royal Mansour across the way and Novotel nearby. Breakfast in the morning was good.

We actually slept well, and the bed had a comfortable mattress, nice sheets, and cozy pillows. The bathroom was clean and had good towels. Still, we wouldn’t come back, and I wouldn’t recommend it. We were shown to a room that wasn’t ready for four people, then had to stand there while a woman brought in and set up two folding beds. The room itself was in rough shape: the carpet was the dirtiest I’ve ever seen, the hallway walls were peeling, and a table felt sticky even though it had been wiped. From the entrance, the outdated 1970s-style furniture and design were already a shock. The elevator has no inner doors, which made it quite an adventure for the kids.

The other staff were respectful and kind, but one receptionist kept giving me the same attitude every time I came back during my week-long stay. She was ridiculously rude and unprofessional. She acts like she can treat anyone however she wants, and that won't work with everyone. Some people are afraid of confrontation, so imagine how they feel when she comes at them like that. If I owned this hotel, she wouldn't still be working there. Treat customers with respect or get out of the hotel business, simple as that.

It’s close to a local shopping market and fine for a one or two night stay. The staff helped me find parking for my car and arrange a 5:00AM taxi on my last day. My room was old, but the bed was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean too. The WiFi signal in the room wasn’t good. The lift is tiny, old-style, and felt risky.
