Medina Guesthouse - Hostel

I felt uncomfortable at this hostel, mostly because of the receptionist, Mobarak. Several guests seemed uneasy around him too. He spoke in a serious, harsh way that made the atmosphere unpleasant, and he made insulting remarks about Morocco and the King. I don't think guests should have to hear attacks on the country they're visiting when they're looking for a place where they feel safe and respected. Whatever his nationality, that kind of disrespect toward the host country and its people doesn't belong in hospitality. Mobarak is from Saudi Arabia. When I chose to leave, he said, “I don’t understand why you come back to us,” which felt hurtful and unprofessional. Another guest jokingly asked for tea for free, and Mobarak reacted harshly and insisted he had to pay. The guest was shocked, since it had clearly been a joke. This behavior doesn't reflect hospitality or respect, and management should address it. It can harm the hostel's reputation, and guests deserve to feel welcome and comfortable during their stay.

I really enjoyed my stay and would come back. The rooftop has a great view and is a lovely place to relax. Everyone was welcoming, especially Moubarek, who was incredibly friendly and went out of his way to help me. Thank youuuu 🙏🏻

The terrace and rooftop were great places to hang out, and the rooms were really comfortable. I had a super fun stay at this hostel during the AFCON. Its spot in the medina worked really well, and all the staff helped create a welcoming, relaxed vibe. Moubarek was great to talk to and had lots of tips on what to see and do, and where to head next. Thanks for a fun stay, everything was awesome!

The woman who owns the place was very nice and welcoming. Honestly, it was just okay for one night. I think the hostel needs more rules and organization. Some of the people there looked a bit strange to me, though I'm not sure whether they were volunteers or travelers. If you're a girl traveling alone, I don't think this place is suitable.
