I loved starting the day to birdsong and the gentle pace of local life. The mountain view from my window was beautiful, and fresh air and a peaceful atmosphere made it easy to relax. I originally planned a shorter stay but extended for four nights. Dar Besmellah is a family run homestay, with the family on the second floor and guests on the third. It’s simple and basic, but very clean and comfortable, with a lot of artistic character and a comfortable bed. The old town location is convenient, with the main square, cafés, and restaurants all within walking distance. The rooftop became my favorite place for eating, yoga, meditation, writing postcards, and watching the sunset over the blue town and surrounding mountains. The family are artists, and their handmade work gives the house its own authentic charm. Said, the owner, is a kind and welcoming gentleman, and the whole family made me feel at home with their generosity and warmth. One of my favorite stays in Morocco. I’d happily come back.

The location is excellent, close to everything, and the hosts are really friendly. My room was clean and comfortable, and I enjoyed staying here. I’d gladly recommend this hostel.

Saed and family are amazing people, and the rooms are basic but super clean. I stayed for three days and wished I could have made it a month, especially to take a textile workshop with the artist Saeed. I also had the vegetarian tegin and traditional fish dish. I love this family and will be back next time, Inshallah. Couldn’t recommend them more.

The place was spotless and well cared for, and whenever I needed something, staff were ready to help before I even had to ask. They were incredibly friendly and made me feel like part of the family. I had a wonderful stay at Dar besmellah in Chefchaouen. Their warmth and hospitality made it memorable, and I’d definitely love to return. Highly recommended!
