Clean and modern, but still has an old-time feel. One downside is the toilets: they’re very ugly and have no ventilation. I found that was the same in every accommodation in Morocco.

I wouldn’t stay here again. The location is very good, and the reception and other staff were kind and helpful, but the room’s fixtures and equipment were in poor shape. The bathroom door wouldn’t close, water leaked, the washbasin wasn’t fixed in place, and the sink smelled. It’s a shame, since these things could all be repaired with some effort. I wasn’t the only disappointed guest.

Hotel Dar is a small hotel close to the blue city’s main attractions, which are within walking distance. There’s street parking nearby, though some people may ask for payment and you can negotiate. The hotel is okay by local standards and makes a good base for visiting the city.

The owners run this family business with academic students who are highly educated and enjoy working in tourism and hospitality. My family and I stayed for two nights while visiting chefchaoun and akchour, and had a great time in this authentic Moroccan place. The accommodation is simple but very comfortable. Breakfast was good, and we also had a nice dinner on our first night, with dessert included. A great stay in a beautiful town.
